The recent Smart Content ID rollout has triggered a frustrating issue with my distributor DistroKid, who is falsely claiming tracks on my behalf (as Interstreet Recordings). Here’s what you need to do to have your claims removed.
This issue is affecting all YouTube videos containing the following six* tracks:
- Growing Up
- Filaments
- Horizons
- Childhood
- Jul
- Undertow*
I have contacted DistroKid with this information, and as of 7:30pm CEST DistroKid is working to resolve the issue – I expect that the false claims will be resolved later today (April 18).
However, claims will not automatically be released.
If you are affected, you must use this form to notify my new Content ID provider of your claim: https://forms.gle/Paryioz3pnggAe5F8. This will ensure that your claims can be resolved as soon as DistroKid lifts their ownership of the claims. Once this occurs, claims should be resolved within 24 hours.
I’m sorry this has happened during what has been the most important and most stressful moment for the library. This seems to be an unprecedented issue, but this doesn’t undo the hassles it has caused. I hope this is the final issue before things settle down for good!
Thank-you for your patience, and if you have any questions, please get in touch!
Cheers,
Scott.
*Update: Undertow has been added to list of affected tracks.
